About the Stomp Out Human Trafficking

This race in Tampa benefits a local nonprofit working to protect vulnerable youth and support survivors of human trafficking. The course offers a short-distance option and a longer run, both open to individuals and teams. Dogs are welcome, and the team format, where small groups compete together, gives it a group-outing feel as much as a race-day one.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon and evening before the race at a local running store on Dale Mabry Hwy. On race morning, pickup opens at the park well before the start. Post-race awards cover overall finishers, age groups, and top fundraising teams, with a separate recognition for the leading individual fundraiser.

Common Questions About the Stomp Out Human Trafficking

Will I finish last at the Stomp Out Human Trafficking?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 31:22, and the last recorded finisher came in around 52:00, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Stomp Out Human Trafficking a good first 5K?

It is a small race (119 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Stomp Out Human Trafficking?

The 5K winner ran 17:38 while the median finisher took 31:22. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.

Where can I train for the Stomp Out Human Trafficking?

Join a local run club. Run Tampa, Run the Heights, Run Club for MFs That Don't Run and others in Tampa welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
