About the RunThrough Anacostia Park (Washington DC) 10k & 5k

The course runs out and back along the Anacostia River on a closed road through Anacostia National Park. The surface is smooth pavement, the ground is genuinely flat the whole way, and the river stays visible for most of it. If you are chasing a personal best, the terrain gives you every chance.

Several distance options mean the morning draws a wide range of people, from first-timers to those trying to go fast. The road closure keeps traffic out entirely, so there is nothing to navigate around, just open pavement and the park on either side.
