About the Miles To Go 5K!

The course runs a couple of loops on paved surface, so you pass the finish area before you are actually done. It is a road race through Orlando with a wide path, which keeps things moving whether you are pushing a pace or out for a walk with the kids. The whole thing is a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to a local charity that serves people experiencing homelessness.

Packet pickup happens on-site before the start, with earlier options available if you want to avoid the morning rush. After the race there is a full party: food trucks, vendors, a DJ, kids' activities, a silent auction, and a raffle. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and there is even a station set up for them.

Common Questions About the Miles To Go 5K!

Will I finish last at the Miles To Go 5K!?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 42:54, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:16:02, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Miles To Go 5K! a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 391 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Miles To Go 5K!?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:11 while the median finisher took 42:54. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.

Where can I train for the Miles To Go 5K!?

Join a local run club. Orlando Runners Club, Home State Run Club, Park Brewing Run Club and others in Orlando welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
