About the Lingzi Dream Dash 5k
The course runs along the Charles River Esplanade, flat and quick, with open views of the Boston skyline. The race honors Lingzi Lu, a Boston University graduate student killed at the Boston Marathon bombing, and benefits the foundation her family created to fund educational opportunities for students who share her ambition and curiosity.
The Esplanade is easy to get to from the heart of the city, and the path along the river draws a crowd that comes as much to remember Lingzi as to race. The foundation's mission comes through in the atmosphere: this is a morning that feels purposeful rather than routine.
