About the Kids Run This 'Hood 5k
This is a chip-timed road race organized by an elementary school PTA, with several other local schools taking part. The course runs through the neighborhood the race is named for, and the event draws a crowd that skews young, which shapes the whole morning.
After the main race, there is a kids color run and a post-race celebration. The energy around the finish area leans heavily toward families with children, so expect a lot of noise, color, and people who are not in any hurry to leave.
