About the Hancock XC Invitational Open Race
The course at Jefferson Barracks Park is a proper cross country layout, the kind of terrain that high school programs have raced on for years. Expect grass, natural ground underfoot, and the open park setting that makes cross country feel like cross country rather than a road race with mud on it.
The open race goes off early, before the high school heats take over the course. If you stick around after you finish, you can watch some of the stronger prep distance runners in the area compete on the same ground you just covered.
