About the 18th Annual F^3 Lake Half Marathon & 5k
The course runs along the lakefront, exposed to whatever winter throws at it, wind included. Runners start inside Soldier Field's United Club, which gives you a warm place to wait and drop gear before heading out. The out-and-back shape along the water is straightforward, but in cold conditions it earns its reputation as a genuine weather race.
Gear check is inside the stadium, so you can shed layers before the start. After finishing, the afterparty moves to a nearby tavern on Michigan Ave, a practical choice given the temperature most years.
