About the Edison Park Turkey Trot

The Edison Park Turkey Trot runs on Thanksgiving morning in the Edison Park neighborhood on Chicago's northwest side. It started with a small group of neighbors who wanted something local for the holiday, and it has grown into one of the bigger Turkey Trots in the city. The proceeds go to charity, which gives the morning a purpose beyond the miles.

The race draws participants from across the country, but the crowd still feels rooted in the neighborhood. Expect a busy start area and plenty of families. The charitable mission is central to how the organizers talk about the event, and that shapes the atmosphere from the first step.
