About the Dia de los Muertos Run/Walk

The race takes place at Forest Home, a historic cemetery with an arboretum on the grounds. Running through a working cemetery gives the course a genuinely different feel, quiet and shaded, with old trees and older stones alongside the path. The Día de los Muertos timing makes the setting feel fitting rather than odd.

Common Questions About the Dia de los Muertos Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Dia de los Muertos Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.01 Miles field finished slower than 33:52, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:09:48, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Dia de los Muertos Run/Walk a good first 3.01 Miles?

A field of 425 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.01 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Dia de los Muertos Run/Walk?

The 3.01 Miles winner ran 16:45 while the median finisher took 33:52. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.

Where can I train for the Dia de los Muertos Run/Walk?

Join a local run club. Milwaukee Running Group - OMG, Badgerland Striders, Performance Running Outfitters Group Runs and others in Milwaukee welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
