About the Cheers to New Year's 5k Run/Walk - Tampa
The course runs out and back on paved trails through Gadsen Park, so the terrain is smooth and the route is simple to follow. It is a New Year's Day morning race, which gives it a particular kind of energy, people still cheerful from the night before and happy to be outside. The park setting keeps things calm and contained.
Packet pickup opens the morning of the race, before the start, so there is no need to go anywhere the day before. After you finish, a local brewery called Late Start Brewing is the gathering spot, and your race bib gets you a pint there.
