About the Baton Rouge General Mardi Gras Mambo 10K/15K
The course winds through downtown Baton Rouge and into the Historic Garden District, so you get a real cross-section of the city. The route is set up for runners moving at a range of paces, with a pace cutoff enforced by a sweep vehicle for anyone who falls behind. It starts and finishes at a park close to the state capitol building.
Pre-race packet pickup is at an Academy Sports and Outdoors location, the evening before the race. Race-morning pickup is also available at the start area, though the organizers warn that lines get long, so arriving early helps. Your confirmation email or a photo ID is all you need, and a friend can grab your packet if you cannot make it yourself.
