About the Ascot Hills Challenge 5K
The course runs through Ascot Hills Park in the hills of East Los Angeles, and it earns its name. The trail climbs enough to open up views of Dodger Stadium and the Hollywood sign, both visible from the park at elevation. The terrain will test anyone who hasn't run trails before, though hikers and walkers are out there alongside runners.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the park itself, with race-morning pickup available as a backup for those who can't make it. The race benefits a fire and police magnet cadet program at a local high school, so there's a distinct sense of purpose behind the organizing.
