About This Club

Recess Run Club is a Brooklyn social running group that runs three times a week and treats the vibe as seriously as the miles. It's built for beginners and all paces who want a run that doubles as a social scene, not a race prep program. If you're chasing a PR or training plan, this isn't structured around that.

  • Sexy pace focus
  • Good vibes requirement
  • Inclusive community
  • Weekly runs

Who It Suits

This suits beginners and social runners who want a low-barrier, no-membership way to run three times a week with company. It's not set up for walkers, stroller users, or dog owners, and it's explicitly not aimed at competitive racers or kids. If what you want is a serious training group, look elsewhere; if you want a free, easy-entry social run in Brooklyn, this fits.

What a Run With Them Is Like

The week breaks into three different formats: a Monday track session, a Wednesday morning miles run, and a Saturday flagship run, so you get variety in structure even if you show up every week. Terrain is road and track, nothing off-road or trail. The pace is described as inclusive and open to all levels, so it's not built around a single speed everyone has to match.

Your First Run

Check Heylo before you go, that's where the specifics on meeting spots live for each of the three runs. Show up ready to run and bring good vibes, that's the actual entry requirement here, not a certain pace or experience level.

It's free and there's no membership to join, so there's no paperwork between you and your first run. Any runner is welcome, so the worry about being new or slow isn't the barrier it might be elsewhere.
