Common Questions About Minnesota Running Club
Do I need to be fast to run with Minnesota Running Club?
No. Minnesota Running Club is set up for new runners. The group runs around various paces; members range roughly from about 6:30 minutes per mile to about 15 minutes per mile, with groups organized by pace so all abilities have someone to run with. If you are worried about holding the group up, that is the most common worry new members have, and it is usually the first thing to go away.
Is it awkward to show up to Minnesota Running Club on your own?
Most people turn up alone the first time, and a group run is one of the easier places to do that, because you are all moving in the same direction and nobody has to hold a conversation face to face. Afterwards: social events including summer volleyball league and monthly study nights.
How does Minnesota Running Club compare to other running clubs in Minneapolis?
It runs 5 days a week, which only 2 of Minneapolis's 5 clubs do. It is free to run with, which is true of 1 of Minneapolis's 5 clubs.
Do I need to sign up before my first run with Minnesota Running Club?
No membership is required, so you can turn up to a run and see how you get on before committing to anything. There is nothing to pay either. It is still worth checking their latest post before you go, in case a start time or meeting spot has moved.
Where this comes from: Club details come from each club’s own channels (their site, Meetup, Strava and social posts) and are checked by hand. Group runs move, so confirm the meeting spot on the club’s latest post before you head out. Last updated July 2026.
