About the Zachary Charity League Chasing Santa 5K
The course winds through the streets of Zachary past several of the local schools, which are central to what the Zachary Charity League does. It is chip timed, stroller-friendly, and doubles as a fundraiser for scholarships, teacher grants, and a weekend snack program for children from food-insecure homes. A costumed Santa runs the course, and catching him earns a special prize.
Zachary High School hosts the start and finish, right out front of the main building. Packet pickup runs on the two evenings before the race at a location on Main Street, with race-morning pickup available as well. Hot cocoa and cookies are out after the finish.
