About the Reindeer Run
The Reindeer Run moves through downtown Baton Rouge on an evening during the city's Festival of Lights. The streets are already dressed for the season, so the backdrop does some work. Both distances share the same start area near a main downtown address, and the longer race goes off shortly after the shorter fun run.
Packet pickup is at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center on St. Ferdinand Street. After the race, the energy shifts to the surrounding restaurants and bars, which stay open and draw the crowd. Food, music, and drinks are part of the post-race picture, not something you have to hunt for.
