About the Wrigley River Run & Tadpole Trot
The course runs through the Wrigley neighborhood along the river, so expect a flat route with open sky above and a riverbed landscape on either side. The race benefits local youth organizations and scholarships, which gives the morning a purposeful feel rather than a purely competitive one.
The start and finish are in the parking lot of a local beer hall on West Willow Street, which also serves as the bib pickup area. Post-race, you are already standing next to a taproom, which is a reasonable place to end up after a morning on the water.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Wrigley River Run & Tadpole Trot has been held every year since at least 1908. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
