About the Wild Turkey Wattle
The course runs through Otsego Regional Park, looping along the river and dipping through wooded sections on a paved path. The terrain is mostly flat with a little gentle roll to it, and the setting is the kind of place where you might actually spot a wild turkey. Pushers and strollers are allowed, with a request to yield to runners.
Pickup is on race morning at the park. The race benefits local high school nordic ski programs, and organizers ask runners to bring non-perishable food or winter clothing donations for kids or adults, which go to a local food shelf. There is a shorter kids run in addition to the main distance.
