About the Wellspring's 11th Annual 5K Race for Recovery
The course runs along the Bangor Waterfront, so there is open sky and river views for most of the route. The race is organized by Wellspring, a substance use recovery organization, and the field tends to include people who have a personal connection to recovery, either their own or someone else's. That gives the morning a different weight than most road races.
Packet pickup and registration open before the start, and the start area is right at the waterfront address on Railroad Street. Parking near the waterfront is worth arriving a little early for, especially on a weekend morning when the area draws other visitors.
