About the Commit to Community: 5K Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run and Kids Obstacle Course
The course mixes city streets with gravel and dirt trails, so the surface changes under your feet throughout. There are some long uphill stretches on the roads, and the trail sections can get rough in places. People with strollers are welcome, but it is worth knowing the terrain before you decide to bring one. The race benefits the hospital's program supporting victims of violence and abuse.
The local running club is involved in putting this event together and incorporates the longer distance into their regional road race series, so you may find club runners using it as a tuneup rather than a standalone event.
