About the We Want Ice Cream! 5K Run
The course runs through Duke Island Park on flat paved paths, surrounded by open parkland. It is a straightforward out-and-back or loop through the park, without any real climbing. The setting is green and open, the kind of place where you hear more birds than traffic, and the finish line has ice cream waiting, including vegan and dairy-free options.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the race at Fleet Feet in Somerville, with the start at Duke Island Park itself. Parking should be easy given the park setting. Age group awards go out after the race, so there is reason to stick around beyond the ice cream.
