About the 6th ANNUAL DUCK DONUT 5K/10K and NEW 2K Pup Strut

The course runs through Duke Island Park, a flat stretch that suits any pace. There is no timing or awards ceremony, so the mood at the finish is unhurried. A Duck Donuts stand is waiting there, and choosing your donut flavor is treated with roughly the same seriousness as the race itself. Dogs are welcome on the shorter fun-run distance.

Packet pickup the day before is at the Duck Donuts location on Route Twenty-Two East in Green Brook, which doubles as a preview of what is coming at the finish. Race-morning pickup opens early at the park. The race benefits Somerset Children's Center, a local organization providing therapeutic services to children with special needs.

Common Questions About the 6th ANNUAL DUCK DONUT 5K/10K and NEW 2K Pup Strut

Will I finish last at the 6th ANNUAL DUCK DONUT 5K/10K and NEW 2K Pup Strut?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:09, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:23:23, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 6th ANNUAL DUCK DONUT 5K/10K and NEW 2K Pup Strut a good first 5K?

A field of 220 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 6th ANNUAL DUCK DONUT 5K/10K and NEW 2K Pup Strut?

The 5K winner ran 20:20 while the median finisher took 39:09. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
