About the Bridgewater Donut Chase 5K
The course runs alongside Duke Island Park, with a good stretch hugging the Raritan River and Canal. It is flat throughout, and the water is close enough that it stays in view for much of the run. The surroundings are open and quiet, more park than pavement.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running store, with a race-morning window as well, held at Duke Island Park. After the race, there are donuts at the finish. The event raises money for metastatic breast cancer research, which the organizers tie directly to people they know personally.
