About the WCRC New Year's Day Hangover Classic: 5k, 10k, Plunge!
The courses run entirely on beachfront roads at Salisbury Beach, with the ocean right there the whole way. Both distances share the same start and finish line, and the terrain is flat throughout, so your legs are doing the same work from the first step to the last. After crossing the finish, a lot of people head straight into the water for a New Year's plunge.
The post-race party has music and beer on the beach. The race is a fundraiser for a local running club's youth and adult programs, so the people organizing it are runners themselves, and it shows in how the morning is put together.
