About the Tortoise and the Hare Trail Races
The race runs on Easter weekend out of Lions Park, where check-in opens under the pavilion. There are trail distances for runners who want a longer morning and a shorter color run option for those who want something more vivid. The event raises money for Salisbury Parks and Recreation, so the crowd skews local and the atmosphere stays familiar.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Senior Center on Lafayette Road, with race-morning registration also available at the park. Parking is along Lafayette Road at the DPW lot and the Senior Center, with overflow spots at a couple of nearby community facilities. Post-race, there are snacks, fruit, a mobile coffee trailer, and a beer option for those old enough.

The Tortoise and the Hare Trail Races has been held every year since at least 2021. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
