About the Wakefield Turkey Trot
The course loops Lake Quannapowitt, which means you get water views for most of the route. It is a Thanksgiving morning race, so expect costumes in the crowd, a kids' fun run before the main event, and the kind of field that includes people who ran in high school and people who have not run since. Proceeds go to the local high school cross country and track programs.
Bib pickup runs on several days before the race, including a few evening windows at a bank community room on Main Street. On race morning, look for the red tents near the start. The town water truck will be on hand, so bring a reusable bottle rather than relying on cups.
