About the Under The Oaks Run
The course moves through several distinct environments in a short stretch. Runners pass along the Atlantic coastline, then head into the historic Millionaires Village under a canopy of live oak trees, then swing out toward the marsh and riverfront. The bike paths through the tree cover are shaded and relatively flat, and the scenery shifts noticeably as the route changes direction.
Packet pickup runs on several evenings in the days before the race at Saint Simons Christian School, with an additional pickup window the evening before at Summer Waves, which is also the start and finish area. On race morning, pickup is available at Summer Waves before the first wave goes off. Food is set up at the finish after the race.
