About the TURKEY TRAIL TROT & THE LEFTOVERS RACE
The course runs entirely on dirt trails through Stony Creek Metropark, ranging from wide paths to tight single track. Expect leaves, roots, and rocks underfoot, and the terrain rolls from gentle to genuinely steep in places. Twists and turns come regularly, so you are always paying attention. There are several distance options spread across both days of the event.
Early packet pickup runs across several days the week before at Hanson's Running Shop in Utica. Race-morning pickup is available both days as well. Groups of a certain size who register together can claim a pie at packet pickup. A fire pit is at the finish area, and there are snacks and water on course. A park pass is required the second day; no fee is charged on Thanksgiving.
