About the Tunnel to Towers Climb - Chicago, IL
This is a stair climb inside a tower along the Chicago River, starting at street level in the adjacent park and going up to the top floor. The stairwell winds to the right the whole way, and the steps vary in count per flight. Medics are stationed at the base near the elevators. First responders and military are welcome to climb in full gear.
The building is near public transit, and parking is tight, so most people arrive by train or bus. On race morning, packet pickup opens early in the park next to the building, before an opening ceremony and the first wave. Water is available at the start and at the top, but nowhere inside the stairwell itself.
