About the Tulsa Oilers Arena Challenge

This is a stair climb race held inside the BOK Center arena in downtown Tulsa. There are a few course options, ranging from a shorter fun run format to more demanding stair climb routes through the arena. The course is marked with cones and stanchions, and marshals are posted at key spots. Expect to be moving through the building rather than out on the streets.

Packet pickup opens early on race morning in the Grand Lobby, where you enter off the corner of third and Denver. Street parking nearby is generally free on weekends, though some surface lots around the arena charge a fee, so check the signs when you pull in.

Common Questions About the Tulsa Oilers Arena Challenge

Will I finish last at the Tulsa Oilers Arena Challenge?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 36:59, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:05, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Tulsa Oilers Arena Challenge a good first race?

A field of 322 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Tulsa Oilers Arena Challenge?

The race winner ran 19:24 while the median finisher took 36:59. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
