About the Trail Nut 5K and 1 Mile
The course runs through Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area, starting from the west trailhead. It is genuine trail running inside the city, with the natural terrain and tree cover you get from a working wilderness park rather than a groomed path. Both distances follow the same trailhead hub, so the atmosphere is shared across the field.
The post-race area has music, food, and drinks. Packet pickup is at the trailhead, which also serves as the main parking area, so there is no shuttle or separate lot to navigate before the gun goes off.

The Trail Nut 5K and 1 Mile has been held every year since at least 2019. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
