About the Wash Park Circuit, Powered by New Balance

The race runs a single loop around Wash Park, starting near the diagonal parking lot between two open green spaces. You get a quick downhill off the line, then a gradual climb, another drop, and some rolling terrain through the middle. There is one sharp punch of a hill near the end, then the course flattens out for a straight, fast finish stretch.

The race is structured into separate waves, with a kids run and a community wave before the competitive heats go off. Post-race, there are waffles from a local vendor at the finish. Packet pickup is available the afternoon before at Runners Roost Denver, with race-morning pickup and registration also on offer.

Common Questions About the The Wash Park Circuit, Powered by New Balance

Will I finish last at the Wash Park Circuit, Powered by New Balance?

Almost certainly not. Half the 2.25 Miles field finished slower than 13:53, and the last recorded finisher came in around 33:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Wash Park Circuit, Powered by New Balance a good first 2.25 Miles?

It is a small race (175 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 2.25 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Wash Park Circuit, Powered by New Balance?

The 2.25 Miles winner ran 10:09 while the median finisher took 13:53. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.

Where can I train for the Wash Park Circuit, Powered by New Balance?
