About the Ritz-Carlton Grande Labor Day Weekend 5K & Yoga Master Class

The course runs through the back half of a championship golf course at a large resort property outside Orlando. The terrain is the kind you find on a well-maintained course: open, gently rolling, with long sight lines and manicured grass underfoot. It is a scenic morning loop through grounds that most people only see from a cart.

Packet pickup and check-in open early on race morning at the Valencia Courtyard, next to the resort spa. Parking is available on-site, with both self-parking and valet options. After the run, there are champagne, mimosas, and healthy snacks at the finish, along with a restorative yoga class and massage therapists on hand for recovery work.

Common Questions About the The Ritz-Carlton Grande Labor Day Weekend 5K & Yoga Master Class

Will I finish last at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Labor Day Weekend 5K & Yoga Master Class?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:57, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:12, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Ritz-Carlton Grande Labor Day Weekend 5K & Yoga Master Class a good first 5K?

It is a small race (119 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Ritz-Carlton Grande Labor Day Weekend 5K & Yoga Master Class?

The 5K winner ran 23:23 while the median finisher took 39:57. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
