About the Louisiana Marathon
The course rolls through several distinct pockets of Baton Rouge, taking in the university campus, lakeside paths, riverside stretches, and streets lined with old oak trees in some of the city's oldest neighborhoods. It is certified and qualifies for Boston, and the flat profile draws runners chasing times. Spectators spread out at various points along the route, so it rarely feels empty.
Packet pickup runs at the Raising Cane's River Center Ballroom the two days before the longer races, with race-morning pickup available at AZ Young Park as well. Street parking and nearby garages are both options downtown, though a few streets close for the race and tow zones are posted. The finish festival is at AZ Young Park, where the post-race gathering happens after you cross.

The Louisiana Marathon has been held every year since at least 2016. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
