About the Hero Hill Climb
The course runs up a gravel road that starts beside an Army Ranger training base outside Dahlonega. Before you head up, you are handed a card with the name and story of a fallen service member. You carry that card to the top, pin it to a memorial board, and ring a cast iron bell. Then you walk back down carrying a small flag.
The after-party takes place at the on-base bar and grill, where there is food, drinks, and live music. UTV vehicles are available for anyone who needs a ride up and down, so the climb is open to people of all physical abilities.
