About the Run for the Rescues 5K
This race in Dahlonega benefits the local county animal shelter, and dogs on leashes are welcome to run alongside their people. The course runs through the area around an elementary school. It is a morning where the cause is as present as the race itself, with an on-site adoption event running alongside everything else.
Registration opens before the start, so you can show up and handle paperwork the morning of. Post-race, there is a raffle with gift baskets for dog and cat lovers, and the shelter's volunteers are the ones putting this together.
