About the Dahlonega's Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run
The course runs through Camp Glisson, a wooded camp setting that gives the route a different feel from a typical road race. Thanksgiving morning here means cool air, trees instead of storefronts, and a course that earns the post-race meal. Age group awards go out along with overall honors, and a shorter fun run option runs alongside the main event.
Packet pickup happens the evening before Thanksgiving at Lumpkin County High School, with a drive-through format so you barely have to get out of the car. Race-day registration and pickup open at the same high school early that morning, though registration closes before the gun goes off, so showing up at the last minute is not the move.
