About the Cookie Classic - 5K, 10K, 10-Miler, Half Marathon
The course runs along the beach path at Alamitos Beach, an out-and-back on a paved shoreline path shared with pedestrians and cyclists. Shorter distances do a single loop of the route; longer ones stack additional laps. The setting is open ocean-side running, flat along the water, with the usual mix of beachgoers sharing the path as the morning gets going.
Packet pickup happens the afternoon before at Sports Basement, with race-morning pickup opening early at the beach parking lot near Claremont Ave. Parking in the lot is paid by the hour via an app or meter; street parking nearby is free. At the finish there is water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks.
