About the Tammany Turkey Trot
The course runs through downtown Covington on Thanksgiving morning, passing under streets lined with moss-covered oaks. Both shorter and longer distance options loop back to finish at the St. Tammany Parish Courthouse, with the longer route dipping further south past older homes before rejoining. The route is on city streets, so expect pavement throughout.
Pre-race packet pickup happens at a couple of local sporting goods stores in the days before the race, with race-morning pickup available at the start site as well. The organizers note that morning lines can run long, so earlier is better if you are picking up on the day.
