About the Swing Bridge Run

The course runs through historic downtown Beaufort and out across a swing bridge, with the waterfront setting doing most of the work. It is a certified road course, flat along the bay, with the bridge crossing giving it a distinct shape you do not get from a typical out-and-back. Walkers follow the same route but turn around before the bridge meets the far road.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a local running store called Grounded Running, which the organizers push hard because race-morning lines get long. The start and finish are on Bay Street in the heart of downtown, near the marina. A prayer gathering happens under the waterfront park pavilion just before the race begins. The event welcomes strollers and dogs.
