About the Race4Love 2027

The course winds through the neighborhoods of Cat Island, keeping things flat the whole way. It is a residential route, the kind where you are passing houses and streets rather than trails or parks. The race benefits Hopeful Horizons, a local center serving survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault.

Packet pickup is offered at a few locations in the area before race day, including a local running store and a brewery, so there are options depending on where you are coming from. On race day, marshals direct you to parking near the tennis courts at the event site.

Common Questions About the Race4Love 2027

Will I finish last at the Race4Love 2027?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:16, and the last recorded finisher came in around 59:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Race4Love 2027 a good first 5K?

It is a small race (74 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Race4Love 2027?

The 5K winner ran 4:03 while the median finisher took 32:16. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
