Beaufort, SC

About the Jingle All The Way 5k

The course runs through a college campus and out onto a Spanish moss-lined trail, passing through an artistic tunnel along the way. The terrain is mixed, so expect some variety underfoot rather than a straight road surface. It is a fundraiser for physical therapist assistant students, which shapes the atmosphere: the crowd skews toward supporters of the program as much as competitive runners.

The race starts in front of a campus building near a large flagpole. Hot chocolate and treats are set out after the finish, and awards go to the top overall finishers in each gender as well as a best-dressed category, so holiday costumes are worth considering.

Common Questions About the Jingle All The Way 5k

Will I finish last at the Jingle All The Way 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:25, and the last recorded finisher came in around 56:49, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Jingle All The Way 5k a good first 5K?

It is a small race (133 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Jingle All The Way 5k?

The 5K winner ran 18:51 while the median finisher took 32:25. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
