About the Summer Solstice Run: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon
The course runs along the Long Beach coastline at sunrise, so you get ocean views and palm trees the whole way out and back. The timing puts the sun low and the air still cool, which makes the waterfront stretch genuinely pleasant rather than just scenic on a poster. Several distance options mean the start area has a range of paces warming up together.
Packet pickup happens race morning at an athletics tent right near the start line, so there is no separate trip the day before. Street parking nearby is free, with a paid beach lot as an alternative. There is music and refreshments at the finish.
