About the Signal Hill Rotary Mutt Run 1K & 5K

The course runs along the Long Beach shoreline, starting at a beach launch ramp that doubles as a dog beach. The path hugs the water the whole way, which makes for a flat, open route with sea air and a view. Dogs on leash are welcome in the dog-friendly distance options, and all breeds can join.

Everything starts and ends at the same spot on race morning, so there is no separate pickup trip the day before. Arrive with enough time to sort your bib before the start. After the race, the Long Beach Animal Care Services brings adoptable dogs to the finish area, and a small post-race gathering follows.
