About the Shark Week Showdown 5K/10K - Corpus Christi
The course runs through Heritage Park, set against the coastal character of Corpus Christi. The ocean theme carries through the whole morning, with music at the start and finish. Several distance options make it work for a wide range of runners, from a short kids dash up through a full chip-timed run with age-group awards. The vibe is loud and upbeat rather than stripped-down.
Packet pickup opens early on race morning, well before the start. The kids dash goes off just before the main field, so families with younger children can get that out of the way and still be there for the gun. Post-race celebrations and awards happen at the finish area once the field comes in.
