About the SARR Great Greenway Marathon Relay

The course follows the Howard Peak Greenway along Salado Creek, tracing the edge of the Hill Country through a string of parks on shaded trail. It runs point-to-point, mostly downhill, with some rolling stretches along the way. Each leg of the relay covers a different section of the Greenway, so teammates spread out across the course and reunite at the McAllister Dog Park trailhead at the finish.

There is no race-morning packet pickup, so the whole team needs to sort that out beforehand. One person can collect for the group. Batons are handed out at the start line on race day. Because the course is point-to-point, getting each runner to their exchange point on time is part of the event, and the organizers send a detailed runner guide to help teams coordinate parking and logistics.
