About the San Diego 5K SCADaddle for Research

The course runs along the water at Crown Point Park on Mission Bay, staying on the bay side walkway the whole way. It is a road surface on flat ground beside the water, with open views across the bay. The race supports research into a rare cardiac condition that affects mostly younger women, so the crowd tends to have a personal connection to the cause.

After finishing, there are acai bowls made to order from a local vendor, plus face painting and other activities nearby. The park offers free parking. Awards go to overall winners and age group placers across a wide range of age brackets.
