About the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Stampede 5K Run/Walk
The route runs through downtown San Antonio, following the same path the morning parade and cattle drive will take later that day. The course passes through the heart of the city and, depending on construction, may wind along the River Walk. Overall and age-group winners get to ride in the parade afterward, behind a banner, which is a genuinely unusual finish-line reward.
The race starts at Milam Park, where tents and rodeo flags mark the area. Parking is available at Cattleman's Lot nearby on a first-come basis. Packet pickup happens the morning of the race, with late registration available under the tents. After the race, a parade passes through, followed by a chuck wagon breakfast and a cook-off at Market Square.
