About the ‘RUNNING WITH MY PEEPS 5K/10K’ (Los Angeles, CA)
The race starts and finishes near the Autry Museum inside Griffith Park, on a flat out-and-back trail with no road traffic. The shorter and longer distances follow the same path, the longer one covering it twice. A kids dash runs a separate, shorter version of the same route. The park setting keeps the whole course shaded and away from city streets.
The start and finish area leans into the Easter theme pretty hard, with a PEEPS mascot, the Easter Bunny, and a kids egg hunt set up near the finish. There are marshmallow PEEPS candies at the finish line. The organizers use a staggered start to keep the trail from getting too crowded at the beginning.
