About the Run with the Raiders 5K
The course runs on the cross country course at a local high school, so expect grass, uneven ground, and the kind of terrain that rewards trail shoes over road flats. It is an evening race, which keeps the heat down in late summer, and the high school stadium grounds give it a scholastic, end-of-season-practice feel. Awards go to the top finishers overall and within age groups.
The start and finish are at the high school stadium. A kids fun run goes off first, so the area has families and younger runners milling around before the main event gets underway. Proceeds support the school's cross country program, which gives the whole evening a local, booster-night atmosphere.
